Managers Notes

Congratulations everyone on a great meet this past weekend!  Thanks to all the parents and volunteers who helped during the meet.  It was great to see many of you dressed as angles or devils and that you were all on the side of the pool cheering for our team.  Our next meet will be Saturday July 12^th against Oakland Mills at The Dasher Green Pool.  The theme for this meet is Sports; make sure to dress up for both the pep rally and the meet.  Just a reminder for this next meet: warm-ups start at 7:00 and the meet will start off with medley relays at 8. Let's keep up the good work at practice and get ready to have a great time at the next Saturday!

There will be no meet this Saturday, or practice and pep rally on Friday.  The Coaches and Managers want to wish everyone a happy 4th of July weekend.  Celebrate, rest, and come back fresh and ready to beat Oakland Mills the following weekend.  There will not be a newsletter next week.

Our next meet is against Oakland Mills and will take place at the Dasher Green Pool. Master Swimmers!!!

Calling all swimmers over the age of 18!  We know that working at a meet (or just watching intently) can be hot and sweaty business!  Please join us for some fun at the mid-meet Master’s swim.  We’ll form three or four relays of adults to take a quick dip to cool off.  If you’d like to swim, please see one of the managers during the freestyle or backstroke events to hold your spot

Yahoo Group

Several people have mentioned that they are not getting the emails sent out.  I have checked the group and have found that several of the addresses say “bouncing”  This means that your yahoo email address has been closed due to inactivity.  If you would like to receive the newsletters electronically, and you don’t have a yahoo address please send an email to team@owenbrownswimteam.com.  Once you have done this you will start to receive all emails that members of the yahoo group receive.

Pep Rally – Sports

Please plan on joining us at 5:30 pm at Dasher Green Pool on Friday the 10^th for our next Pep Rally!  We’ll be showing our team spirit by wearing our best sports themed attire.  We’ll have pizza for sale for dinner, and the kids will have fun decorating posters and practicing the cheers they’ll holler at the meet the next morning.

Lost & Found

There were two green towels left at the Huntington pool on Saturday.  If these belong to you please let the managers know so we can get them back to you. 

One of our kids misplaced their keys at time trials.  If you found a set of keys please let the managers know so that they can be returned to their owner.

VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED!!!

Thanks to all who already volunteered their time to help make the time trials and our first meet a success!  Some spots still need a willing parent to lend a hand for the team.  If you are interested, please contact one of the managers.

VANDALISM ALERT!!!!!

It has come to the attention of the managers that someone has been writing the word “Slap” in graphite style in the boys bathroom of the Dasher Green Pool.  We are not sure that this person is a member of the swim team, but the occurrences seem to coincide with practices and the time trials.  When this person is caught they will not be allowed to enter the Dasher Green pool and if a member of the swim they will be removed from the team, and face possible police prosecution.  If you have any information about this issue please talk to one of the managers.  All information will be kept confidential.  Thank you for your help in this matter.
